Hart is a field-proven instrumentation communications protocol that is easy-to-use and provides uniform and consistent communication without disturbing the integrity of the 4-20mA analog signal. In addition to the process variable, the Hart protocol permits access to device configuration, diagnostics, as well as maintenance and alarm records. As a result, a whole host of additional information related to plant operation is available to the control room through HART. Unlike other digital communication protocols, Hart is backward compatible with the installed base of instrumentation in use today.

The TS4000H monitors a variety of toxic gases including: ammonia, carbon monoxide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen sulfide, nitric oxide, nitrogen dioxide, oxygen deficiency, ozone and sulfur dioxide. The system displays gas concentrations up to 500 ppm, fault codes for troubleshooting, prompts when calibration is needed and provides complete status to the Control Room.
The introduction of a Hart configuration extends the system capabilities for two way digital communication with the TS4000H.
