In August 2005, Servo Kinetics entered into negotiations with the Eaton Corporation to acquire the former Vickers Classic 2000 series product line.
This fine line of hydraulic pumps and fluid motors was at one time the premier product offered by Vickers Corporation. The purchase was finalized on March 1, 2006. The purchase included all material and intellectual assets, as well as 30 tons of inventory. All parts machine drawings on Film Aperture cards are being scanned and converted to digital TIFF files, and to date more than 30,000 cards have been converted. All individual parts are currently available for most model pump or fluid motor, as well as sub-assemblies.
This acquisition has already impacted our power plant business where the Model PVA-120 and PV 2050 pumps are in use in the EHC circuit on the General Electric Turbines. We are maintaining two PVA 120 pumps in inventory, a left- and right-hand rotation for quick turnaround or an emergency situation.
The resurrection of this former "Flag Ship" product line of Vickers Corporation is being received very well both at home and globally. We are finding that many companies are still running these products and we are informing them that Servo Kinetics is now providing full support on all model pumps and fluid motors.
