Loop Powered Particulate Transmitter

FilterSense, Beverly, Mass., introduces its loop powered particulate transmitter which provides two-wire installation and interface with the company's baghouse optimization PLCs or existing plant PLCs. The transmitter exceeds EPA MACT standard for baghouse leak detection. Employing field-proven induction-sensing and protected-probe technologies invented by FilterSense in 1994, these particulate transmitters are said to offer increased reliability over traditional triboelectric and opacity products, according to the company. The combination of induction sensing and a protected probe provide high reliability even in difficult applications such as carbon black, steel furnaces, smelters, and spray dryers. Other benefits include detecting emissions before they are visible, eliminating cleanup costs, preventing the escape of valuable powders, and protecting downstream equipment such as blowers and HEPA filters.
